getting set up in the bay

It's been quite a mission trying to get cottage (any myself) settled in Byron Bay.  But, after about 3 months, I'm finally starting to feel like I'm getting the hang of it..

The new workshop is set up (we have a shaping bay now!)

The markets are welcoming us with open arms, and the locals are frothing..

We've even tee'd up a couple of skatie making workshops, and these'll be going ahead in the next few days (hit us up if you wanna get involved).

We're gettin' there..

Catch ya Palmy

Alright little Palm Beach cottage, it's been so much fun living and working inside you, but the time has come for me to move on.

Just know that it's not you, you're perfect just how you are.. It's me, I need more space, I wanna work on bigger projects, run more skateboard making classes and keep experimenting with furniture.

And even though I'll be living in Byron Bay, the lessons you've taught me will always be in my heart!

From the cottage - A short film by Mick Soiza (Premier at Sunhouse)

So a dude ( Mick Soiza ) who makes videos teamed up with a guy who makes skateboards (me) and they somehow ended up with a mini festival/ video premier party at Sunhouse this Sunday arvo!

What we lack in extended video minutes, we certainly make up for in support acts!

We've got Fonz Whaler blissing your ears in his first ever solo set.

The lads from Donny Love warping minds with leafy love.

The Delicates are in to tickle your bellybuttons.

And GOVS making love to pretty much every part of you (in a good way)..

It starts at 4pm, there's beers, live music, a video, probably some left over slices or cake, and even some delicious burritos!

I know I'm frothin'

Lunch Toast #1

Just made a pretty badass lunch.  Though that’s not really a very interesting statement in itself, it's got some relevance because I’m actually writing about it!

And this -              - is me starting on something I’ve been meaning to do for ages.. But for some reason, possibly because I was pretending to be busier than I was, or being lazy, or perhaps stupid, haven’t..

But, that’s cool, can’t expect to have it all figured out all of the time..  Sometimes you’re killing it in one part of life, then you think it’s sorted, so you go and figure out another part of life, but then that other part you were killing it in starts to lack, and you’re all like “WTF, why is this part of my life that I used to be killing it in, now sucking so much arse..”

Who the hell knows, part of the journey I guess..

And it's probably why I'm continually drawn to skateboarding, and why over the years at times I've been super stoked on it, and why there are other times I've taken breaks from it..

So, anyway back to that lunch I'm eating;

Some brand of multigrain toast (it was $350 a loaf) with some avo on it.  Then, I had (sizzling in a pan)  cherry tomatoes, honey leg ham, red wine & garlic salami, cup mushrooms chopped, haloumi, a bit of tomato relish and thyme.  Then I cooked it all up in a bit of rice oil, and in another pot, poached a couple of eggs.  Chucked it all together on a plate, and then ate that sniz up and wrote about it.

Boom, first lunchtime blog post down.  Oooh, maybe I’ll call this (now) regular post; Lunch Toast.

Also, Pond's newest album came out today.  It's called Man It Feels Like Space Again.

I'm about halfway through it, and so far it's goin' alright.

The cosmic splinters

                 Spotioti                                        Floatioti                                    Dopiopi

A heliocentric existence, a splattering of matter from the beginning.  It's time to count your secondary fingers.  Roll up and down on the cosmic splinters.

With the smile of an endocronic being, the change you seek has lost all its meaning.  Fry up the haloumi you've been craving before you eat it.  Fill up your pathways with the tread of cosmic splinters.

Kaleidoscopic infinity, sun drenched from the squinty.  A cleaner inner is a piece we're all missin'.  Seek out and find your opn cosmic splinters.
